Always remember that obesity brings about different kinds of misery and diseases so do not allow yourself to become a victim of this kind of condition for long.

In most cases, you do not really need any drastic solution for obesity. Simple changes in your lifestyle and your daily routine can do wonders to your body. According to experts, there are simple solutions for obesity that you can do at home without really spending a lot of time and money.

Changing Your Lifestyle

The best solution for obesity is a change in your lifestyle. If you are one of those people who have been leading a sedentary life for a long time, you should start making changes in your daily routine. Simple changes in your daily routine will greatly help reduce your weight. For instance, cutting your TV watching time is a good solution for obesity. What is the connection between obesity and watching TV?

People who watch TV a lot spend several hours just sitting in their couch and not doing any physical activities at all except clicking the remote control every now and then. Unfortunately, clicking the remote control does not qualify as a form of exercise so you do not burn much calories if ever you burn any calories at all clicking the remote control of your TV. Instead of watching TV all day, get out of the couch and do some exercise.

According to studies, watching TV encourages people to start munching on junk foods. In most cases, people who watch TV for several hours will end up eating tons of junk food each day. To avoid eating too much junk food, limit your TV watching time to an hour or even less each day.

Instead of sitting in your couch watching TV, move around the house and do some exercise. Always remember that moving around the house can help burn calories so start doing something physical instead of just sitting in front of the TV set for hours. Climbing the stairs in your house several times a day is a good solution for obesity.

Another very practical solution for obesity is to avoid the fast foods. If you have been living on fast foods, you should quit that habit right this minute. According to experts, fast foods can wreck havoc on your diet. Instead of eating French fries and hamburger, try eating fresh fruits and vegetables.

Americas Teens Are Becoming An Obese Generation
In America and worldwide, teenage obesity is becoming a problem of epidemic proportions. In recent years, the total number of obese teens and children has tripled. This is an alarming rate not only due to the social ramifications on the overweight teens self esteem but on the health issues that will plague each child that is technically obese or even morbidly obese.

Defining Obesity Is Important Training For Teenage America

Medical science is proving that the health issues involved in a person maintaining a body weight in excess of 20% of their medically identified “ideal” weight can cause increased blood pressure, heath problems, diabetes and many more health complications. Many obese teens do not even know the true definition of obesity or that their current body size falls with that classification. It is the hope of many scientists, government officials, teachers and parents that through the definition and educational programs involving obesity many teens will modify their eating and behavior habits at a young age and not become affected with the problems and complications of adult onset obesity.

For many teens, obesity is a learned behavior that has been taught to them due to the influences of their parents, friends and extended family members. Research has proven that the current causes of teen obesity go beyond the once believed culprit, genetics. Today, sources are proving that it is the mindset and the lifestyle practices that are having the biggest influence on the weight of obese teens.

The Different External Influence Affect Teenagers Choices

Food Choices such as fast food, fried foods, high sugar sodas and candies, each of these items causes increased weight gain. Many of America’s teens are not taught the value and importance of choosing fresh fruits, fresh vegetable and natural flavored nuts for snacks. In recent years, governmental agencies have recognized the need for this dietary training and in many cases federal and local governments are now funding dietary training courses to change the eating behavior of America’s youth.

In addition to poor food choices, America’s youth has become very sedentary in their extra curricular behaviors. American teens are becoming obese because they are inactive. Computers, satellite television and video games are all activities that are done inside the house and while seated. In previous decades, children ran and played outside as much as they could before it got dark or dinner was ready. Today, most teens are home alone after school, eating whatever snacks they choose and sitting in front of one electronic device or another. The result is a generation of obese teens that are dealing with many different weight related health issues.

Positive Psychological Effects Of Obesity
We’ve all heard…and heard…and heard about how awful obese people feel, how depressed they are, what low self esteem they have. And although I do know some fat people (and some skinny people) like that, for this article I would rather focus on the positive. Are there any good psychological effects of obesity? Many would argue that there are. Here are just a few of the ones I’ve observed.

Psychological Effects Of Obesity #1: Courage

Prejudice against people who are obese—or fat, as I prefer—is the last acceptable prejudice. Strangers feel free to speculate about how anyone could “just let themselves go like that” and unsolicited advice about how many calories a certain food contains or how pretty a woman would be if she could just shed a few pounds is common and widespread. Anyone who doesn’t think it takes courage to move through a world like that on a daily basis has the imagination of a turnip.

Psychological Effects of Obesity #2: Awareness Of The True Meaning Of Beauty
Because of the way we are often judged so harshly based on our appearances, most fat people learn to look beyond the outer shell of other people and find what is truly beautiful in them. Not sleek blond hair that will thin and grow white with age, nor a size zero body whose bones will shatter from osteoporosis in fifty years, nor a perfectly botoxed face that will, nevertheless, show wrinkles some day—but true beauty. Intelligence. Kindness. A love of nature. A strong work ethic. A sense of fair play and justice. Love and compassion shown to others. We see these things that others, so concerned with outer appearances, so often miss.

Psychological Effects Of Obesity #3: Pride

Have you ever seen the Venus of Willendorf? Venus, the goddess of beauty in Roman mythology, is usually pictured as slim and titian-haired. But this Venus, believed to be a fertility statue, is fat with pendulous breasts, a protruding stomach, a large vulva, and heavy, sagging thighs.

If this female figure were once an icon of beauty, why can’t it become so again? Who says that only sizes six and below are beautiful while the rest of us must hide from the world? Who says fat isn’t in? Who says the psychological effects of obesity can’t be positive instead of negative?

Being fat does not have to and should not be a cause for psychological distress. If you’re fat, like me, identify and celebrate your inner and outer strengths. Then get out there and start living! After all, when you’re ninety years old will you care that you weighed three hundred pounds when you went to Africa? Or will you just be delighted to have the memories of a once-in-a-lifetime trip?
